Priorities For Our Family

We have one goal for everyone we come into contact with - TO MAKE JESUS FAMOUS!

  • famous |ˈfāməs| adj. - having a widespread reputation, renowned, celebrated, honored for achievement, much talked about, known about by many people.

By that, we want to make Jesus better known to everyone we come into contact with. If we come into contact with someone who knows nothing about Jesus, we want to help introduce them to Him.  And if we come into contact with someone who already knows Him, we want to help them to know him better.  That is our consistent mission as a church.

In order to accomplish this task, we emphasize the following priorities for our entire church family:

  1. following Jesus - knowledge is one thing, but a decision to follow Jesus is the doorway in everyone's journey to follow Jesus Christ.  It is an individuals active response to the invitation of Jesus, "Will you follow Me?" In our gatherings we emphasize and encourage this decision and the ongoing decision to follow Jesus for a life-time.
  2. pursuing spiritual maturity - we place great emphasis on spiritual maturity for all believers. Maturity should happen naturally but it is fueled by several disciplines which we emphasize:  an active walk with Jesus; reading, hearing and applying His word; regular times of prayer and worship; overcoming repetitive sins; engagement in accountable relationships with other believers; direct involvement with the task of making Jesus famous. These disciplines are frequent themes in our gatherings, our teaching and our ministries.
  3. committed to the family - there is an implied intention within scripture that every follower of Christ be planted in, and committed to a local church family, and we are committed to that concept.  All followers of Christ are members of his universal family, but we believe that local family relationship begins when a person makes that personal decision followed by a public declaration. We provide regularly scheduled "Welcome To The Father's House" classes with subsequent opportunity to make that declaration of relationship.
  4. called to serve - every believer has natural/supernatural abilities that God has given them for His use. They are for serving people inside and outside the body of Christ. Our leaders are responsible to recognize, train and encourage the use of these gifts. As a church family, this process begins as people commit to our local HOUSE.  Every member of the local family has a place of service regardless of age, talent or experience.  Finding one's specific place of serving is found by exploring options, and we are not afraid to allow people to "try and see" until they "find, lock in and blossom."
  5. making Jesus famous - every believer is called to share the news of Jesus' impact on their life. This is done by intentionally living a life of following Him, through intentional conversations and intentional actions.
