Where were you born and raised: I was born in Mt. Vernon Washington but have lived in Longview for the majority of my life.

How Long have you lived in the (Vancouver or Kelso) area: I have lived in Longview for most of my life, but went to school in Portland to get my BA. We recently moved to Kalama.

A few facts about your family: I have a amazing family. Tyler and I have been married for 4 years. We have two beautiful daughters. Adylyn is 2 ½ and such a busy, smart, loving little girl. Edyn was born this past February and is my sweet and snuggly girl. I am so blessed to have two daughters and I love that they will have each other! We just built a house in Kalama and are adjusting to living in the country!

What type of work do you do: I have my own business as a photographer. I love what I do because not only does it allow me to be creative but I am able to stay home with my daughters. I have the opportunity to meet a lot of really awesome people and help them create lasting memories!

Hobbies/Interests: I love taking pictures, so I’m frequently behind a camera! I enjoy crafts, and making things for my girls to wear in their hair Playing ‘Words’ with friends like Ashley who always respond immediately! I like gardening and playing in the dirt with Adylyn. I love to be outdoors; hiking, being at the ocean or just laying in the sun! My husband and my girls are my favorite hobbies…they keep me busy!

When, where and how did you meet Jesus: I have gone to church since I was in Kindergarten and always have known that Jesus was real and important in my life.  I have loved and believed in Jesus as long as I can remember.

How you found TFH and how long you have been there: I have been attending TFH for about 6 years now. Jenn Tallbut and I started going together and loved it! My husband and I made the decision to become members and we have been here ever since.

In what ways are you involved at TFH: Tyler and I serve on the Leadership team. I also have spent the past several years involved with Kids Church and leading worship for Kids Church. I also sing on the worship team for the Saturday service.

What are a few things you love most about TFH: I would have to say my favorite thing about TFH would have to be the cookies. Ron and Sue Amberg are amazing…they keep me coming back for more with the cookies every week.. Sometimes, I go to the Saturday night service and again on Sunday mornings, but only on weeks when the cookies are extra fabulous Aside from the edibles, as everyone says in their snapshots, the people are awesome.. I love the church family that we have. The preaching isn’t too shabby either!

Besides dying for you, what is the most exciting thing the Lord has ever done for you: I could basically write a book to answer this question but…I’ll be brief. Jesus has forgiven me for so many things in my life. His grace is amazing! He has blessed me with such a wonderful family; a loving husband who is my best friend and two amazing daughters. Being in church every week with my entire family all raising their hands to praise Jesus is a priceless gift. I know his hand is upon me everyday and that is something that I am thankful for every day…should I go on???

Where were you born and raised:  I was born in Platte, South Dakota and raised in Hillsboro, OR

How Long have you lived in the (Vancouver or Kelso) area:  18 years in Vancouver

A few facts about your family:  I have been married to my wife Laura for 18 years this July. We were blessed with three kids, Annie 15, Hailey 12 - soon to be 13 and Nathan 10 - soon to be 11.

What type of work do you do:  I am an electrical engineer for Bonneville Power Administration and have worked there for over 8 years.

Hobbies/Interests:  I love to do just about anything outdoors. Windsurfing, biking, bird hunting, fishing, hiking, camping.  Not an expert in any of them (maybe I should narrow it down....). Right now my season of life is busy with family and kids activities and activities with TFH. We built a house about 4 years ago so a good amount of time has been spent working around the house. I often find myself digging holes. I guess technically that's an outdoor activity.

When, where and how did you meet Jesus: I was raised in a church setting from early childhood, but there was little emphasis on having a relationship with Jesus.  Looking back, I see that God was at work placing people in my life planting seeds. About 19 years ago God turned up the heat and was continually placing people in our lives that were talking to and praying for us (or I was finally at a place where I was connecting the dots and listening).. He was definitely drawing me to Him. During a church service an opportunity was made to accept Jesus. That was the best decision I have ever made.

How you found TFH and how long you have been there:
God led us to TFH through some friends. We have been here for a year.

In what ways are you involved at TFH:
We have always spent time in the activities where the kids are at.  Since they are all in the GLO student ministries, we're hanging out with them there. I am also helping out with the campus maintenance and mowing the east field.

What are a few things you love most about TFH:
From the first time we showed up we felt welcomed. I love the teaching, the worship and the emphasis on developing our relationship with Jesus.

Besides dying for you, what is the most exciting thing the Lord has ever done for you: God never gave up on me. Even when I was living my life for me, He was there beside me. He has blessed me with a beautiful wife and kids and has given me the hope and promise of a future and eternity in His presence.

How you found TFH and how long you have been there:  I was going to the Burton Church of God and have been a member there for 11 years.  Then Pastor McCullough retired and Pastor Steve became our Pastor.  I've been at the Fathers House ever since it was built and opened for worship and service.

What are a few things you love most about TFH:  How loving and friendly everyone is.  How our Pastor cares for his congregation and how involved he is with us.  He would give the shirt off his back if need be.

Besides dying for you, what is the most exciting thing the Lord has ever done for you:  He saved my son from dying when he thought he was going to. He took me from a bad situation to where I am now.  He saved my life inside out from going down a long hard road.  The Lord has filled my life with so much love, compassion, joy and happiness.  I am so grateful that He is in my life and I am glad that I did not have to experience my life without Him.  My life would not be the same; the Lord is everything to me.  I thank Him everyday for His favor and I am expecting bigger and greater things from Him in every area of my life his word says so.  I LOVE YOU LORD WITH ALL MY HEART!

Where were you born and raised: Born in Pasadena, Texas in 1990. Moved to Vancouver very shortly after being born.

How Long have you lived in the (Vancouver or Kelso) area:
I have lived in Vancouver for basically all my life! But if you were looking for a number, about 18.75 years.

A few facts about your family: Fact: I have a mom who still loves me like I was her baby boy. Fact: I have a dad who has a slight obsession with discount stores, hats, and laughter. Fact: I have a 16 year old brother who plays drums loudly next to my room. Fact: We have 4 kajillion dogs and 2 cats. Actually that last one was a lie. We only have 2 kajillion dogs and 2.5 cats. (The .5 of a cat is a stray) :)

What type of work do you do: Currently I do a lot of housework, yard work, and random errands for my grandma. She is my current employer, lol. Aiming for a full-time student at Clark during the fall. Studying….stuff.  Maybe psychology and/or art?

Hobbies/Interests: I love being around the peeps at church. There’s something about them that reallllllly makes them grow on you. I also like cleaning the church (don’t tell my mom)!!! Everyone on the custodial crew really knows how to have fun while we’re doing the… dirty work! Haha get it? Cuz we’re cleaning!! I like puns. :) Also I like video games, from saving princesses, vanquishing zombies, to gaining weight, to having sore eyes…Yeah I need another hobby. I also like listening to Christian bands you probably will never hear on the radio…because they’re awesome like that. I also kinda like art, though I wouldn’t call me an artist. I also love to make fun of friends and be made fun of by friends. I have give and take relationships with people. :) I love it when my jaw gets sore at the end of the day from all the laughing and smiling I do around my friends. OH, I like sushi too!

When, where and how did you meet Jesus:
I was born and raised in a church. My family and I were church people. We went to church because that’s what “Christians” did. Even if the pastor was boring, the pews were hard, the congregation consisted people age 50 and up, and we sang hymns that we never knew the words to. We knew who Jesus was, we heard stories of what he did. I specifically remember asking him into my heart on numerous occasions (just to make sure I was saved). But I never REALLY knew Jesus until we had bounced to a couple of different churches and found an actual bible-believing church. That’s when my family and I actually saw who he actually was, and were able to fully appreciate church, and become real Christ-followers.

How you found TFH and how long you have been there:
After bouncing around different churches, we found one really good bible-believing one. We loved it. Except for one thing. The other kids at the church weren’t very nice to me and my brother lol. So, we ended up leaving that church, and eventually stumbled across a church literally in our backyard (okay, not literally, but it was a block away). Lo and behold, it was The Father’s House of Vancouver. (The building’s old location truly was terrible.. We NEVER knew there was a church there!) I have been attending TFH since around the time Pastor Steve started pastoring the church.

In what ways are you involved at TFH:
Sometimes you will see me manning a camera during service recording a message, or you might see me behind a computer at the Kelso campus running PowerPoint. What you probably don’t see me do is edit the announcements or help clean the church with the rest of the custodial crew. (Talk to John Franulovich to get signed up…you know you want to!) :D

What are a few things you love most about TFH: THE PEOPLE/CONGREGATION/MEMBERS OF TFH!!! I can’t NOT like everyone. Some of the members of our church are just so….awesome/funny/[insert other compliment here]!!! And I can’t pass up the opportunity to say that I love our pastors, because Pastor Steve and Pastor Nathan do a phenomenal job at bringing the Word while being completely relatable and humorous as to keep us from getting bored. And they do so much stuff behind the scenes that it can’t go unnoticed.

Besides dying for you, what is the most exciting thing the Lord has ever done for you:
God sure has done a lot of cool things in/to me. But right now, none of them blow me away as much as the fact that God actually loves me. I know his love for me is real, and though I may not feel like I’m loved every second of every day, in the back of my mind the seed has already been planted. God truly loves me. Despite  how idiotic I am, how needy I am, how many times I’ve fallen, how much anyone or anything tells me otherwise, Jesus truly loves me, and wants to work in me and through me. It’s so simple, but it’s sometimes the only thing that will get me to crack open the bible, or do anything spiritual. God is just awesome.

Where were you born and raised: I was born in Albuquerque New Mexico but only spent 2 months there. I was raised in Longview until I was 9 and then moved to Castle Rock. I lived in Castle Rock until I was 19 and then Longview again and now Castle Rock again, cant make up my mind!

How Long have you lived in the (Vancouver or Kelso) area:
I have lived in the Longview area all my life and hope to live the rest of it in the Vancouver/Portland area. I love me some city!!!

A few facts about your family:
I have a brother who is 10 years younger than me and a half sister who is 20 now. My brother is my world and always has been.  I live with my mom, step-dad and brother right now which has been very nice but I plan on moving to Vancouver in the next few months. I have a huge family but dont get to see a majority of them because we live far away for the most part. They are all awesome though!!!

What type of work do you do:
I work at Hometown National Bank in Longview and love it! I'm a teller and open new accounts. I also clean the bank on the weekends. I'm hoping to make clothing to sell at some point. I make prom dresses and would love to begin making wedding dresses and open my own business later on down the road.

Hobbies/Interests: I love softball and would play all year if I could. I also enjoy singing, writing songs and anything to do with music. Crafts are a passion as well, I love to quilt, crochet, draw, scrapbook, sow, make clothing, etc. Otherwise I like to spend time with my friends and make people laugh!

When, where and how did you meet Jesus: I've known about Jesus for a little more than 4 years, but actually just met Him and gave my life to Him on March 21st of this year. I was on my way home from a friends house after an awesome day and spent the entire hour long car ride talking to Him and gave Him my life.

How you found TFH and how long you have been there: I actually found TFH in Kelso by driving past the sign on my way to work everyday. My first time at the Kelso campus was February 20th and I got hooked and havent missed a service sense!

In what ways are you involved at TFH:
I just started helping in Childrens Church at the Kelso campus and will be starting power point for worship there as well. I'm also a part of the Life Journal Blog and LOVE it! I hope to one day be involved in singing on the worship team and maybe teaching Childrens Church and doing nursery.

What are a few things you love most about TFH:
The people! I have never felt so loved and appreciated as I do at TFH. The first time I went to the Kelso campus I was not planning on going back to any church, only went to appease a friend. Then during meet and greet Amy Ganz came over and asked me to sit with her and Pastor Steve preached a message that completely touched my heart. From then on I was hooked and couldn't ask for anything better in my life! Having my new friends and Church family are amazing!!

Besides dying for you, what is the most exciting thing the Lord has ever done for you:
Feeling Gods pressence, when you get those can't handle it goose bumps, has been amazing. He has done so much for me in the last month of getting to know Him. My life will never go back to the way it was, it will only continue to get better each and every day. I cant wait to experience more with the One who died for me.

Where were you born and raised: I was born in Grand Junction, CO and raised most of my life in Longview, WA.

How Long have you lived in the (Vancouver or Kelso) area: I spent roughly 17 years in the Longview/Kelso area and have lived in Vancouver for the last 5 or so.

A few facts about your family:
I have an awesome wife Heather whose heart is bigger than my head, a small dog, a cat, and three chickens.

What type of work do you do:
I administer the point of sale system for a regional restaurant chain.

Hobbies/Interests: I like hanging our with Heather, amateur auto racing, surfing, and shiny things.

When, where and how did you meet Jesus:
Though I was raised in the church and became a "Christian" at a young age, it wasn't until late in college, after years of living for myself that I came to the realization that life wasn't about me.  After one particular party had died, I lay awake in the dark and began to question whether this was all life had to offer.  Propped up by the camaraderie of friends, the love of family, and the entertainment life had to offer, I was able to ignore the feelings of incompleteness and the craving to figure out what I was missing but their in the dark there was no escaping it.  I began to open my mind to who God might actually be and kept returning to the truths my parents had planted growing up.  This continued for over a year until I finally realized that all God wanted from me was for me to actually follow Jesus.

How you found TFH and how long you have been there:
After much prompting from my parents throughout college, I determined that I should get back into church and started sporadically attending TFH since I'd known several members and Pastor Steve from Longview.  Dave Tallbut would always ask on Friday or Saturday if I was planning to be there on Sunday and would always ask on Monday why I wasn't.  While I found my parents' and Dave's persistence annoying at that time, now I can't thank them enough for their diligence.  I've called The Father's House home for about five years now.

In what ways are you involved at TFH:
I'm currently teaching the college age Life Group on Wed. nights at 7pm, serving on the Leadership Team, and working with the Kitchen, Welcome Center, and Ushering Teams in Vancouver.

What are a few things you love most about TFH:
I love the challenging teaching, our emphasis on Jesus and the gospel, the Spirit filled worship, and the feeling of family.

Besides dying for you, what is the most exciting thing the Lord has ever done for you: I love my wife and besides forgiving my sins, she's hands down the best gift the Lord has given me.

Where were you born and raised: Longview, WA.

How Long have you lived in the (Vancouver or Kelso) area: I have lived in Longview my whole life.  Minus one year when I lived in Kelso!  lol

A few facts about your family:
I have a very close family.  My brother is my best friend.  I live within a few blocks of my parents and see them almost everyday.   I live in the same condo building as my grandparents and visit them daily as well.  Between my parents and grandparents, I get free food pretty much everday of the week!  LOL!!  My grandpa is my hero.  I hope one day I can marry a man as awesome as him!

What type of work do you do:
I am currently employed at The Al Angelo Company.  I am the Accounting/Administrative Assistant.  We are a property management company in downtown Vancouver.  I started there at the end of October..  It has been a lot of fun getting to know the staff along with the Vancouver area.

Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy shopping, reading, traveling, skiing, anything to do with the sun and DISNEYLAND!  If I could, I would totally live there.  Its the happiest place on earth!  LOL!

When, where and how did you meet Jesus: Minus a few stumbling blocks along the way, I have served Jesus my whole life.  I don't think I truly understood what it all meant though until I hit my 20's.  It was then I started to learn who God truly was to me.  Not to my parents or leaders but what he meant to me.

How you found TFH and how long you have been there:
I attended TFH back when Pastor Steve first started pastoring when it was still called Burton Church of God.  That was only for a short time due to the commute.  But I started attending TFH in Kelso the second week they began services.

In what ways are you involved at TFH: I am involved in teaching Kids church and greeting and I also help with power point during worship.

What are a few things you love most about TFH: I knew the second week I attended TFH in Kelso that this was exactly where I needed to be.  I love the atmosphere of worship and desire to know God more.  I feel in the last 6 months I have grown stronger and deeper in my walk with the Lord than ever before.  It has been a safe place for me to come and hear the word and be healed from a lot of past hurts.  It has also been a place I can give back and minister to others as well.

Besides dying for you, what is the most exciting thing the Lord has ever done for you:
Besides dying for me, the Lord has blessed me with so many wonderful things.  He has been my provider when I wasn't sure how I would pay my bills.  He has surrounded me with wonderful friends who have stood by at some of my darkest days and he has blessed me with an amazing family.  I have learned so much from them!  God has used each and every one of them to speak to me in some way.  I have a family who prays for me daily and has taught me the importance of waiting on the Lord and trusting Him!  Such amazing examples!!

Where were you born and raised: Born in Portland and raised in Portland/Salem Oregon.

How Long have you lived in the (Vancouver or Kelso) area:
  about 4 years now...

A few facts about your family:
I have four older sisters and a famous older brother that is mostly known for his star roll in the play "tree farm"  but otherwise known as the worship leader at TFH. Both my parents are pastors of a church in the Portland area. They also help run a music festival called "x-fest".

What type of work do you do:
I am gymnastics coach and have been coaching for 5 years. I train kids from ages 3 to 19. My main focus is my compulsory team, I am the compulsory head coach at the Multnomah Athletic Club. We compete all over the nation and actually this year it will be international. I am taking 3 of my boys to Japan for a meet this fall. Should be exciting!

Hobbies/Interests: I'm big into creating music and writing songs on my guitar. I also still enjoy doing gymnastics myself so occasionally you'll catch me complaining about being sore. I also enjoy art, I have done a few paintings and a lot of drawings. Usually they turn out strange as if I had a drug to influence my art, but nope, my mind is just odd and I enjoy it!

When, where and how did you meet Jesus: I was on my parents bed, 5 years old at the time, and I told my parents that I wanted to become a Christian. They lead  me through the prayer and right after that, my brother Nathan taught me how to snap my fingers. To me, that had to be from God... I'm not  usually that quick.

How you found TFH and how long you have been there:
I moved in with my brother and was required to go to TFH if I was to live with him;  and well I really liked it, so I stuck around for 4 years now!

In what ways are you involved at TFH:
I help out with the announcements and hopefully I'll soon be back on the worship team!

What are a few things you love most about TFH:
The people! Everyone is awesome! Also How much we focus on Jesus, it's refreshing!

Besides dying for you, what is the most exciting thing the Lord has ever done for you:
When he filled me with the Holy Spirit! It was one of the best and most influential moments of my life.   It totally changed my mind and freed me from some baggage that was keeping me from him!

Where were you born and raised: Longview, Washington

How Long have you lived in the (Vancouver or Kelso) area: We moved here in 1977.

A few facts about your family: Gary & I met at R.A. Long High School just a few years back! We will be married 41 years on March 15th. We have three grown children, Melissa, Matt and Meagan and daughter in law (Laura) and two grandchildren Alexandra (14) and Christian (21). He is a junior at Western Washington University & Alex attends Skyview High School. Our family is a lot of fun. We laugh a lot, love to play games, go to Alex's theater performances and go out to eat where we are normally the loudest ones in the restaurant. Our youngest daughter, Meagan, a Christian school teacher, now lives with us because of a chronic illness. We want her well but she has added a lot to our home and we have learned the value of living in the moment.

What type of work do you do: Ministry has been my vocation for 22 years. I have served on two church staffs as Women's Pastor and Community Small Groups Pastor. Currently, I work from home doing online grading for women's classes at Western Seminary, I volunteer one day a week as a chaplain for Clark County First Response Team, and I do some women's retreat speaking. I am loving being home.

Hobbies/Interests: Avid reader and walker. Favorite hobby is hiking and photographing my favorite walks. Our whole family loves mystery movies. Bible Study and writing are two of my biggest loves.

When, where and how did you meet Jesus: When Gary & I were first married, we had good friends (Jim and Shirley Phelps from Longview) who had become Christians and talked about Jesus like He was their best friend. We made a decision to go to church because of them thinking that "now we are Christians". Something was missing though. Our pastor gave us a modern translation Bible and we gave our lives to Jesus while we were reading the Scripture. I can remember God speaking to my heart and saying: You can't just be a Sunday Christian. I want all of you or you are not mine." This was in 1972.

How you found TFH and how long you have been there: We went online to their website after seeing the add in the yellow pages. We were church shopping.. TFH was the only church we tried and we were hooked the first time we came! That was 2 1/2 years ago.

In what ways are you involved at TFH: I work in the nursery twice a month (love those kids), the Welcome Center the 2nd Sunday of every month, co-host with the Burrills the empty-nesters over 45 dinner club on the 3rd Thurs. of each month. I am just finishing a break as the Tuesday devotional blog writer and will return to that in March.

What are a few things you love most about TFH: The teaching, the worship and the loving congregation.

Besides dying for you, what is the most exciting thing the Lord has ever done for you: Our oldest daughter, Melissa, was diagnosed with terminal cancer when she was pregnant with our granddaughter. It is a long but glorious story. We have them both alive and well. That was 14 years ago. A scripture the Lord has repeatedly comforted me with regarding this situation is Isa. 40:1-2 from The Living Bible which basically says, comfort, comfort to my people, say to her that her warfare has ended."

Where were you born and raised:  I was born in Fountain Valley, CA but I was raised in Hawaii.

How Long have you lived in the (Vancouver or Kelso) area:  I have lived in the Vancouver area for 10 years now.

A few facts about your family:  Both my parents and sister go to TFH.  I have grandparents that live in woodland and they have always been there for me when times were hard, they use to go to TFH but they found a church that was a 1 minute walk for them from there house so they started to go to it and from what I've heard they love it. My sister is one of the people who have played a big part in my life. She has always been a great role model and has always given me dead center advice. My parents are great; they also are very good role models.

What type of work do you do:  I'm still in school :(

Hobbies/Interests:  I love to play drums I have been playing drums for the past 8 years now but for the first 3 years I was not really into it so it was off and on because I was only 7 when I started. I also love to play video games, video edit and I do some photo editing, and I also love to snowmobile and wake board.

When, where and how did you meet Jesus:  I've been going to church my whole life but I would have to say I never met God until we first started going to TFH. So I got saved around 4 years ago and I have loved every single minute of following God it’s just an amazing experience.

How you found TFH and how long you have been there:
I'm not really sure how we found TFH but all I know is that my parents were looking for a new church and then we ended up going to TFH after the service my parents knew that it was the right church for us. Now we have been at TFH for 4 years now and me and my parents and sister all love it and we all have grown so much from being here.

In what ways are you involved at TFH:
I play the drums for the worship team and for the youth group worship team. I was playing in Vancouver services and Kelso services every week for awhile now, but James stepped in again and now I only have to play on youth group services and every 2 weeks for Vancouver and Kelso services.

What are a few things you love most about TFH:  Some of the things I love most about TFH have got to be the people. I've been going to the church now for 4 years and I know almost everyone and some people have ended up being some of my best friends. Another thing I love about TFH is how the leadership is made up of people who I'm free to go and talk to about anything I want and they won't be talk down to me at all but they will just give me the right advice.

Besides dying for you, what is the most exciting thing the Lord has ever done for you:
Bringing me to TFH is to me the most exciting thing God has ever done because I have grown so much as a person and so much with God ever since I started coming. Also bringing me some good friends, other than TFH I had no friends when I first started coming I ended up meeting some people who I think of as family or life long friends.

Where were you born and raised: Born in Anchorage, AK raised in various places PNW

How Long have you lived in the (Vancouver or Kelso) area:
Vancouver for 11 years, Woodland for almost 9 years.

A few facts about your family: I have been blessed with a wonderful family! Matt, my husband and two little ones BrookLynn is 5 (although she insists she is 5 1/2!!) and Philip is 2 1/2. They are both so smart and full of life-- each with lots of personality! They definitely keep us busy and feeling young and old all at the same time!

What type of work do you do:
Right now I am a stay at home mom with the two kids and maintaining the house (and all that comes with!) I am also finishing up my AA degree and pre-req's for the nursing program- Lord willing I will be starting nursing school soon!

Hobbies/Interests:
I love being a mom and wife! I truly feel that this time in my life or "job" if you want to call it that- is the most challenging and rewarding thing I can do! I love listening to Matt and the kids laugh!  Other than the daily ins and outs of life right now I enjoy knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking and relaxing with my family (when we get the chance!) Anyone who knows us also knows Matt and I love to garden! I have discovered a passion of mine is cooking and baking and to me it is so rewarding to grow your own produce and being able to present it to my family and friends! I enjoy finding new ways to incorporate culinary herbs and bushes into our landscaping in the yard. I also can, freeze and dehydrate a lot of fresh produce we get from our garden. During the summer in addition to gardening we love to BBQ and ride bikes and walk with the kids!

When, where and how did you meet Jesus: I have always been raised in the church. Personally, I did make the decision to follow Christ young. During my teens I really experienced Christ's love and re-dedicated my life to Him.. It is every day I meet the Lord in a new way, everyday I make this decision to follow Him. I am constantly amazed by His love and compassion in my life!

How you found TFH and how long you have been there:
Matt and I drove by TFH every Sunday on our way to my grandparents house to visit. When we felt the Lord calling us away from our previous place of worship we looked up the website and decided we needed to visit! We haven't left since- about 14 months now! God truly has blessed us with our new 'family!'

In what ways are you involved at TFH:
I serve in the nursery on Sundays and greeting in the refreshment area on Sunday mornings for first service. I am also a part of the MOM's group and look forward to each and every time we get to meet!

What are a few things you love most about TFH:
I love the family. I love the leadership and the open arms everyone in the church has! I love the firm foundation on the Bible-- on Christ as the solid rock! I love that our whole mission is not about pomp and circumstance, but truly focused on Christ-- making Jesus famous!

Besides dying for you, what is the most exciting thing the Lord has ever done for you: Without going into too many details-- I feel truly blessed to be here- after a year long round of chemotherapy my Junior and Senior year of High School due to lupus. I feel truly blessed to have my two children as many MD's told me to expect the worst. I feel lucky to have each moment I get to experience in life! Recently, my mom was healed from a frightening battle with H1N1. In Novemeber she was given two days to live. His healing hand was there and she is with us today!  His unfailing love to me even at my weakest point. His constant companionship in my loneliest moment. His peace in my turmoil. His plan is perfect and His grace is sufficient. His wisdom is Almighty. His mercies never end. And most of all He has a plan and He knows how it ends.

Where were you born and raised: I was born in Eugene, OR (GO DUCKS!!) and raised in Portland, OR.

How Long have you lived in the (Vancouver or Kelso) area:
I moved to Vancouver almost 3 years ago after I tied the knot with my love and BF Nathan

A few facts about your family: I am married to one amazing, wonderfully talented and ridiculously good looking man. Nathan and I met at Portland Bible College where we both developed a strong friendship and heart for ministry.. I was fortunate enough to have later convinced him to marry me... after I paid him a large sum of money. Just kidding. We have two fur-children together, our dogs Odie and Teddy, who are my pride and joy. We thought if we were successful at keeping pets alive, we would hope to have real children someday. I am the middle child of two brothers, Chad, who also attends TFH and plays guitar for worship team, and Daniel, who is also very talented and still lives with my wonderful parents, Jeff and Laura, in Portland OR.

What type of work do you do: I currently work for At&t Mobility in downtown Portland and have been for the past 3 1/2 years as a "Retail Sales Representative". Sometimes I like to refer to myself as a "technological deficiency counselor." Just to give you a small glimpse into my world, last month a customer walks into my store and asks why his At&t phone stopped working. I looked up his account only to find out he had cancelled his service and switched to Verizon. I politely said, "sir, your phone stopped working because you no longer have service with us, you have service with Verizon." His response was,"sure, blame it on Verizon." This is my life.  I am here for your wireless needs.

Hobbies/Interests:   Sometimes I like to think I have a supernatural gifting in snuggling puppies. If you have one, I will snuggle it.  I love coffee, ICED, although I don't like being cold. Sadly, I could probably feed a small country with the amount of $$ I spend on lattes. I have a passion for music and was raised in a very musical home. I would liken it to the Partridge family band. I love the piano and am now venturing into the world of learning guitar. It's a lot harder than it looks. I also love creativity and am attempting to dip into the wonderful and adventurous world of songwriting, especially in the areas of worship. Probably my favorite thing in life is to laugh. It's not exactly a hobby, but I love to laugh and I love to make people laugh. It's good medicine for the soul. Everyone is a comedian in my family. Just ask my mother. I sometimes like to think of life in terms of Seinfeld episodes. Other interests include interior decorating and shopping. It's a love/hate relationship really. I also love to travel, mainly with my husband, and see new places. I hope to someday travel to other parts of the world. I love spending time with close friends and family. I love good conversations being around passionate and visionary people. Most of my spare time is spent building the church. I love to be on the water in attempt to be good at wake-boarding....but sadly I'm a lot better at falling.  Sometimes I like to sing opera when I'm by myself, and especially when I'm tired.  I'm obsessed with green mint chocolate chip ice cream.  I am working on expanding my cooking abilities and domestic skills 101 (quit laughing).. My biggest pet peeve is when the toilet paper is wrapped "under" instead of "over." I love my pillow....

When, where and how did you meet Jesus: I am so thankful to have been raised in a loving Christian home but it wasn't until I was 13, that I really gave my life to the Lord. I had grown up always loving God and knowing that he loved me but never quite knew there was a real relationship I could have with the maker of the universe. It happened at a summer camp where I heard a preacher give a message on the power of the cross. It was the first time I had really grasped the importance and the relevance of the sacrifice that was made for me and the life that is available in knowing Jesus. It brought me to tears, and then to my knees.....literally. I was never the same. Jesus Christ changed my life.

How you found TFH and how long you have been there: I found out about TFH when I started dating the worship pastor. Oops!  I became a member soon after and have been attending for a little over 3 years.

In what ways are you involved at TFH:
I am a part of an awesome and growing youth ministry. GSM!! I'm privileged to get the opportunity to lead worship every Wednesday night, and help train young musicians in developing skills and a passion for worship. I love getting to hang with Jr. Higher's and High Schoolers every week. I love their energy, their passion, and most importantly, seeing their lives changed by the presence of God. They make me feel really cool. I also get the amazing privilege of serving with my studly husband on the worship team (singing and playing piano) for weekend services. He's an anointed man of God and I love being a part of helping usher in a little taste of heaven every week.

What are a few things you love most about TFH: I love that I have a home here at TFH and not just a church building. I love that I am going to have instant hugs the minute I walk through the door. I have a family here. I love that first and foremost, Jesus is preached. He doesn't take a back seat in the message, He IS the message. He doesn't get lost in our worship, we get lost in the powerful presence. I love that I am challenged to spiritually mature. I love that I am equipped with the tools I need to be an effective leader. I love seeing God move in our church. And I really, really love the cookies!

Besides dying for you, what is the most exciting thing the Lord has ever done for you:
Wow, what hasn't he done for me? That's the real question. God has blessed me with a terrific husband that loves me despite my quirks, fears, and failures. Because of Nathan I have never been more challenged to step out and tap into the gifting(s) God's placed in me, and I've never felt more rewarded than I do now. God has blessed me with fantastic friends and has restored a trust in my heart to really let people in my life again, where there was once damage and hurt. I have an amazing family that I'm head over heels in love. God continually amazes me with His goodness, faithfulness and His provision. I'm not worried about what tomorrow may bring. I have a future and a hope. I have a real tangible God at work in my life. I have joy. I have Jesus, and that is more than enough.

Where were you born and raised:  I was born in Salinas, California. Partly raised in California and Oahu, Hawaii.

How Long have you lived in the (Vancouver or Kelso) area:  I have lived in the Vancouver are for the past ten years.

A few facts about your family: I have been married for almost 20 years to an amazing man named Grant Stayberg. During this 20 years of marriage we have been blessed with two beautiful children, Tyrha and Brandon, who are teens now. I have a brother who is married and lives close by and my parents, whom I love very much, live in Woodland, Washington.

What type of work do you do: I am a Court Reporter/Real-Time Caption-er. My work week consists of going out and taking depositions for attorneys and then making transcripts of the actual testimony. I also write realtime, which is steno to English instantly for the viewing of the person I'm working for. That about sums it up.

Hobbies/Interests: Something that has become a hobby of mine, since we bought an old house that needs fixing up, is designing different floor plans for our house. I found I really enjoy coming up with all kinds of different ways we can remodel our home. We have so many plans, now I don't know what we're going to do.  Another major interest of mine is music. I started singing as soon as I could talk and was drawn to pianos every time I saw one. I started piano lessons at age seven and have been playing in church since I was ten.

When, where and how did you meet Jesus: I was practically born in church. Growing up I remember many times taking my blanket to church with me and falling asleep on the pew or under the pew. I grew up in a very, very charasmaniac church, when many times the Sunday night service went until 1 a.m.  I would say I had my first real experience with Jesus and truly understood his love for me when I was around eight. I believe I gave my heart to Jesus when I was five in children's church. I've had some ups and downs in my relationship with Jesus, but for the most part it's been pretty solid.

How you found TFH and how long you have been there: A good friend of ours, who used to go to the old church, highly recommended that we try TFH. We kind of got lost our first time visiting, but eventually found it and after our second visit we knew this was the one. We have been at TFH for four and-a-half years and we are loving it!

In what ways are you involved at TFH: I play piano, keyboard, and sing. I have been a part of the worship team since early 2006. My husband and I are a part of the TFH leadership team.

What are a few things you love most about TFH:  One of the things I love about our church is it's very healthly. This was a huge factor for us in our decision to make TFH our church.  Another thing I love is how friendly everyone is. We have always felt welcomed and loved.  A final thing I love about our church is that "Jesus is made famous" and we "start on time."

Besides dying for you, what is the most exciting thing the Lord has ever done for you: The Lord has healed me throughout my life starting back when I was a little girl.  When I was really young, I drowned and died and God brought life back to me.. Also when I was a little girl, I had seven different skin diseases and was told by doctors that I would be scarred for life. But one evening God brought someone to our church and when they walked in, they knew they were to pray for me and I was instantly healed and God gave me brand new skin and to this day I have never had a problem with that again.

When I was pregnant with Brandon, at three months I was told that he would die. Soon after that God gave me two dreams and I saw a little boy that was healthy. Even though through my pregnancy the news was bad, I made it to seven and-a-half months and when Brandon was born the doctors said it was a miracle, because the bag that he grew in, was in several shreded-up pieces and he should have never survived that pregnancy.  So, I think healing is definitely the most exciting thing the Lord has done in my life.
